Teacher bio:

Tracey is a generational potter. She considers it her life’s honor to carry on her grandmother’s love of ceramic art. Engaging with clay is a life-long practice of hers—a sort of moving meditation that directs mindfulness. When she teaches clay art to others, her favorite thing to do is simply watch people’s faces light up as they create something that is both beautiful and personally meaningful.Tracey has experience teaching psychology courses at the university level, as well as clay workshops and private/semi-private clay sessions. In addition, she built and directed a ceramics program for wellness at a women’s shelter in Denver, Colorado. When she teaches ceramics, she brings all of her expertise to the clay space.Aside from beautiful creations that are often functional, some of the benefits of working with clay include therapeutic, destressing and relaxation, mindfulness, improved focus, emotional expression, large muscle and fine motor control, community building, and spontaneous experiences of joy and inspiration.
