SCH Morning Pre-K (M-F)

Our Transitional Kindergarten (TK) morning program is designed specifically for older preschoolers who will be entering kindergarten the following year and would benefit from additional time to build confidence, independence, and school readiness in a play-based setting.

Located in the heart of the Sellwood-Moreland neighborhood, Sellwood Schoolhouse’s TK program balances child-led exploration with a more intentional daily rhythm. Through hands-on art projects, collaborative play, early literacy and numeracy experiences, and guided group activities, children strengthen problem-solving skills, emotional regulation, and peer relationships while maintaining the joy and curiosity of preschool.

The TK class serves up to 10 children with a consistent 1:10 teacher-to-child ratio, allowing educators to provide individualized support while encouraging independence and leadership. Learning is rooted in play and exploration, with opportunities for outdoor time and neighborhood connection.

This program is ideal for children who are ready for added structure while still thriving in a developmentally appropriate, play-based environment. For ages 4–5, Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM–1:00 PM
