Our Five day option is a perfect choice for families who need full week care. Having your child go all five days helps create a consistent and predictable schedule—not to mention they won’t miss out on any of the fun we will have during the week!
Our day will consist of lots of open play, outdoor time, and a daily enrichment rotation. During the enrichment rotation, each class will visit another classroom for a specials class, such as music, art, science or tinkering.
Participants must be 3 years to 5 years old when the program starts.
Our three day option is ideal for families who need a regular school routine, but do not necessarily need all 5 days.

Our Two day option is great for our newest learners. It is a gentle entrance into the daily school routine and schedule.

During the enrichment rotation, each class will visit another classroom for a specials class, such as music, art, science or tinkering. this class will be a mixture of children ages 3-5, so our newest students will have the opportunity to learn from our older students.

Sellwood Schoolhouse is a play-based preschool in the heart of Sellwood. Our school is a play-based school, influenced by Montessori and Reggio-Emilia models. We are proud of our amazing and well trained staff, beautiful classroom environments and our community-minded atmosphere. Our classes are mixed-age, encouraging peer cooperation and learning. Our daily schedule is flexible and follow the child's natural rhythm, making space for teacher and child directed learning. During the school day your child will have opportunities for dramatic play, process art, story time, gross motor movement, and so much more.
We have two part week options and a M-F option for preschool. You can pick the option that works best for your family's lifestyle--there is no age restriction. We will select your child's homeroom teacher and notify you before the start of the school year who it will be. You may share your preference if you have one, but understand it will not be a guarantee. Our teachers work very collaboratively and are a "teaching team", so every child in our program will spend time with each teacher equally.
